About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional seeking a part-time role, initially 2–4 days per week for the first couple of weeks, transitioning to 1 day per week thereafter.

You’ll take ownership and build the HR function from the ground up. You’ll implement an HRIS, modernise policies, and embed best-practice frameworks across onboarding, performance, and culture. Working directly with senior leadership, you’ll have influence, visibility, and the freedom to shape a people-first workplace.

Why You’ll Love This Role:
  • Lead HR Transformation: Lead the creation of HR systems, policies, and compliance frameworks in a growing, purpose-driven business.
  • Influence & Impact: Work directly with senior leadership to shape culture, engagement, and people strategy.
  • Flexible & Varied: Start with 2–3 days a week for a couple of weeks, then move to 1 day/week, balancing strategy and hands-on HR work.
  • Be the Go-To HR Expert: Provide hands-on solutions while driving strategic initiatives.
  • Culture & Engagement: Shape initiatives that celebrate milestones, recognise great work, and strengthen team morale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Advise leadership on people management, culture, and organisational structure.
  • Support workforce planning and talent management initiatives.
  • Review and create HR policies, handbooks, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, workplace regulations, and industrial awards.
  • Conduct audits of HR systems, contracts, and records.
  • Establish performance management systems, appraisals, and feedback frameworks.
  • Advise on learning, development, and career progression initiatives.
  • Implement and improve HRIS, payroll systems, and administrative workflows.
  • Streamline HR processes to improve efficiency and reporting.

About You:
  • 5+ years’ experience as a senior HR generalist, ideally within a growing SME.
  • Proven ability to build HR systems, policies, and compliance frameworks from scratch.
  • Trusted partner to leadership, driving structure, consistency, and people-focused initiatives.
  • Skilled across the full employee lifecycle – onboarding, performance, culture, and retention.
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented, and comfortable balancing strategic HR projects with day-to-day operations.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Passionate about creating inclusive, engaging workplaces where people thrive.
