Job Title: P&C Generalist (Part-Time)
Location: Melbourne

About:

Our client is a dynamic, creative, and collaborative studio with locations in Melbourne and Brisbane. They are committed to fostering an engaging, supportive, and growth-focused work environment. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a proactive and solutions-oriented People & Culture Generalist to join the team and support talented staff across both studios.

The Role:

This standalone P&C Generalist position is a hands-on, end-to-end HR role supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You’ll be the go-to HR expert for managers and staff, providing practical advice, elevating internal processes, and ensuring compliance with Australian employment laws.

This is a Part-Time role, ideal for someone self-motivated, strategic, and eager to make a tangible impact on our culture and business practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all P&C matters across both studios, offering timely and practical solutions.

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding: write position descriptions, advertise roles, coordinate interviews, prepare contracts, and conduct exit interviews.

  • Maintain and administer P&C policies, procedures, and records in line with legislation and best practice.

  • Support employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution processes.

  • Coordinate performance reviews, learning and development initiatives, and employee engagement activities.

  • Monitor P&C metrics and trends, recommending process improvements to elevate internal practices.

  • Ensure accurate and confidential P&C records, including future HRIS implementation.

  • Support workplace health and safety compliance and initiatives.

  • Lead Work Health and Safety (WHS) strategies, including risk management reviews.

  • Assist in planning and managing training programs to meet organisational and employee development needs.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred).

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a generalist HR or HR role.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and contemporary P&C practices.

  • Experience in creative, professional services, or studio-based environments (desirable).

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and active listening skills.

  • Solutions-focused mindset, self-motivated, and hands-on.

Why Join Us:
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a growing studio’s culture and people practices.

  • Collaborative and supportive work environment with career growth opportunities.

If you’re a proactive HR professional looking for a diverse, challenging, and rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you.
